ZANU PF Policy and Coordinating meeting today observed a minute of silence for the late Chief Shana and Cde Eunice Sandi Moyo.
Speaking on behalf of the Secretary General Cde Obert Mpofu, Treasurer General Cde Patrick Chinamasa said Chief Shana was an icon of Traditional leadership while describing Cde Moyo as a staunch veteran and nationalist.
"Last week, a dark cloud fell upon Hwange District, after the demise of one of its longest serving Traditional leaders, Chief Shana (III) of Jambezi. He was described as an icon of Traditional leadership across the Province and the country at large. The late Chief Shana was a former Chairperson of the Chief's Council in Matabeleland North Province, a Member of Parliament and a Senator," Cde Chinamasa said.
"In the same vein, former Senator and Bulawayo Provincial Affairs Minister Cde Eunice Sandi Moyo also passed on last week. His Excellency, the President and First Secretary of the Party, Cde Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa described her as a staunch veteran and nationalist. Her role in the liberation struggle and national service will always be remembered.
"The Party joins the nation, family and friends in mourning, despite other political challenges she encountered later in her political journey. May their souls rest in eternal peace."
