His Excellency, the President and Chancellor of all State Universities, Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa today presided over the 45th Graduation Ceremony of the University of Zimbabwe in Harare.

A total of 7132 graduands comprising 5677 females and 1566 males were capped today by His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

This year’s event was held under the theme: Critical human capital for Zimbabwe’s Industrialisation and Competitiveness.

His Excellency the President, the Chancellor, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa declared the Congregation of the University of Zimbabwe graduation ceremony duly constituted.

Some of the notable awards went to Chivanga Stanley, who was Awarded the Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Chancellor’s Award for the Best overall Graduating Engineering student in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment.

Makuvise Priscilla was awarded the Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Chancellor’s Award for the Best overall Graduating Law student in the Faculty of Law while Banda Michelle, was awarded the Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Chancellor’s Award for the Best overall Graduating Life Sciences student in the Faculty of Veterinary Science.
