The Revolutionary Party ZANU PF has kick started the 2024 calendar year in style with its First Secretary and President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa joined other Heads of States and Governments at the 19th Summit of Non-Aligned Movement in Kampala,Uganda.
The Non-Aligned Movement promotes and encourage sustainable development through international cooperation while defending international peace and security by solving disputes through peaceful means.
On the side-lines of the Non-Aligned Movement summit, President Mnangagwa met with Baroness Patricia Scotland, the Secretary General of the Commonwealth at Speke Resort, Munyonyo,Uganda a move that will further strategically position Zimbabwe in international relations.

Giving his opening remarks to the Policy and co-ordination meeting, ZANU PF Secretary General Dr O.M Mpofu has said the revolutionary party is renewed and ready for action ahead of the 2024 calendar year.
“As we get back into gear for this coming year, I trust everyone is renewed and ready to take challenges that 2024 may hold. The goal still is to ensure that our Party moves forward and succeeds in all its activities.
“I want to urge all the relevant departments to come up with their respective programmes that fit into the Party calendar,”said Dr Mpofu.
Dr Mpofu also said the Revolutionary Party will emerge victorious in the upcoming by-elections slated in February and urged fellow party members to rally behind the candidates.
“We have by-elections for both National Assembly and Local Authority seats for the 3rd of February 2024.It is my belief that our mass-line Party,ZANU PF will once again emerge victorious in these upcoming by-elections. We should rally behind the Party’s candidate and ensure a resounding victory, “said Dr Mpofu.
ZANU PF also recently entered into and signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute of African Knowledge for collaborating in the pursuit of Pan-African programmes through the preservation and conservation of the Zimbabwe liberation struggle war-time records through digitisation.
