Following the assumption of SADC Chairmanship by His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, his citizens have taken a leaf from their leader to advance unity and peace within the region.
President Mnangagwa took over Chairmanship in August with the aim of not only economically growing the region but promoting peace among member states.
Speaking from Mozambique after meeting the FRELIMO Presidential candidate, Cde Daniel Chapo, Johane the 5th of Africa International Church Founder Archbishop Dr Andby Makururu said his church is praying for peace ahead of that country's elections slated for October.
"We are in Mozambique to pray for peace and stability ahead of their elections. We have a responsibility as a church to pray for our leaders as our leader, His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa says. The Bible is also clear on our role as a church as well as what humanity or hunhu/ubuntu requires us to do," Archbishop Makururu said.
" We therefore wish this country peace as they prepare for their elections before during and after."
