Former Zimbabwean soccer star and Highlanders legend Peter Ndlovu has urged Zimbabweans to exercise uttermost hygiene as the country fights to combat the Corona Virus COVID19. The soccer player is amongst many other luminaries who have called upon his countrymen to adhere to the call by the President and First Secretary of ZANU PF Cde ED Mnangagwa to unite amidst such trying times. Eight people have tested positive to corona virus and one succumbed to death. The others have stable and mild clinical conditions. The Ministry of Health and Child Care continues to be on high alert.  “It is indeed difficult times for all and everyone throughout the world in tackling the coronavirus. As we prepare for a lockdown for 21 days in our country, as announced by His Excellency President Mnangagwa, I would like to thank in advance the Doctors, Nurses, Police and Army, not forgetting those at the garages and food stores who will be rendering service to us during this time,” Ndlovu said. “We will survive as long as we people respect the call to stay at home, distance ourselves from social gatherings. Sanitise and keep washing your hands on a regular basis. This way we can limit the spread and affirmatively promote the theme of ‘Be safe and protect each other.’ Meanwhile day two of the 21 days of lockdown continues in Harare with heavy presence of the Zimbabwe Republic Police along with the Harare Municipal Police who are ensuring movement is restricted to essential services. Various roadblocks have been mounted across Harare with police asking for relevant documentation to avoid unnecessary travel. Those with proper documentation on why they should be moving, are able to do so otherwise movement of the rest of the people should be within their homes. Skeletal staff mainly security personnel, pharmaceuticals and supermarkets are open to provide the relevant services.
