Silence is golden: Cde MohadiVice President and Second Secretary Cde Kembo Mohadi has cautioned undisciplined ZANU PF Members of Parliament to desist from denigrating the Party but serve its interests. The Party has noted with great concern rampant absenteeism from Parliament business by some of its MPs resulting in a delay in government processes. At least 10 Bills are set to be debated and the Constitutional Amendment Bill is also expected to be a major highlight of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament.Speaking at a Parliamentary Caucus held at the Party Headquarters, Cde Mohadi warned the MPs that the Party will not hesitate to defend its seats.“We have received multiple concerns from the Chief Whip Cde Pupurai Togarepi but let me start with indiscipline by some of our Members of Parliament. We have a two-thirds majority in Parliament but we hear that sometimes there is no quorum in Parliament because people just walk in to register and walk out and this is disrupting government business,” Cde Mohadi said.“When the President and First Secretary of the Party Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa officially opened the Parliament, he laid out what was supposed to be done to realign the Constitution. You are representing the ZANU PF Party and the Party has the mandate to withdraw you and can recall you if you do not perform as expected. It is critical that wherever you are in your constituency or Parliament, you defend the Party. This obligation rests upon you.”Cde Mohadi highlighted that the MPs should not air dirty linen in public. “We may have our shortcomings, this Parliamentary caucus is a platform to discuss these but not in public and glare of the camera. If you have nothing good to say, be silent because silence is golden. Carry out the duties that you have been assigned by the people of Zimbabwe and identify the programmes that people must engage in so we make life better for our people,” Cde Mohadi said.“Attend Parliament religiously because it is your duty to do so and we are a Party of the people. Let us fight together and we shall overcome the enemy who has engaged subtle ways of fighting this government. It is those with ideological understanding that will understand the storm. Once we are out of the storm and alone out there, our growth will change and develop our country.”
