His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has commended Johane the 5th of Africa International Church for the role it is doing in helping achieve Vision 2030.
Speaking during the church’s Annual Conference held in Mvuma this weekend, President Mnangagwa through his representative, ZANU PF National Chairman and Minister of Defense, Cde Oprah Muchinguri-Kashmiri, pleaded with the church to continue praying for the betterment of the country.
”I am deeply honoured to join you, here at this sacred Annual Convention of Johane the Fifth of Africa International Church, being held under the theme, ‘Season of Prayer for the attainment of our National Vision 2030. Ndinotenda nerudo rwamatipa Ute Melinda remekedza kwamaita pazuva ranhasi. Ndafara zvikuru nekukuwonai nehuhwandu hwenyu. Hallelujah,” President Mnangagwa said.
“The theme of this Annual Convention provides scope for us to continue focusing and working towards the realization of our collective development aspirations. Vision 2030, is our covenant and appointment with the future for the realization of a prosperous and empowered upper-middle income society, where no one and no place is left behind.
“I commend the Church for its sacred ideology which dovetails with the Pan-African socio-economic values of Africa’s liberation, independence, self-determination, sovereignty and integrity. These values must be defended and safeguarded at all times. Let us continue to stand firm and proclaim never again, to be constrained by the yoke of colonial bondage.
”In doing so, I challenge the Presiding Archbishop and the church leadership at large, to speed up the implementation of the plans for empowering the youth and women. Local entrepreneurship, wealth creation and economic emancipation as well as prosperity, driven by our own people is the last frontier which we must harness towards complete independence, unity and integration of the African peoples.”
President Mnangagwa’s biblical reference were Paslms 122 verse 1-4 which speaks on how David was overjoyed when they said he must come to the House of the Lord.
He also made reference to Proverbs 14 verse 23 which emphasizes on hard honest work.
