His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa continues to engage in meetings to help ensure Zimbabwe’s prosperity.
Writing on his Twitter page, President Mnangagwa said, “Today, I had the honor of meeting with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in New York during the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly.
In our wide-ranging discussions on multilateralism, climate justice, water security, and global system reform, our message was clear: we come not merely as individual nations, but as one unified voice for Africa.
For too long, the international system has remained deeply unequal. True global peace and sustainable development cannot be achieved until the international financial architecture and global governance systems are structurally reformed to support developing nations fairly.
From advocating for robust climate adaptation financing to advancing water diplomacy for water-scarce nations, Africa stands ready to lead. We also firmly reaffirm that lasting stability requires the inclusion of women in global peace processes and the urgent resolution of ongoing international conflicts.
Thank you, Secretary-General Guterres, for recognizing Zimbabwe’s principled voice.
Together, as a united continent, we will continue to champion the development, equity, and future that Africa deserves.”
Meanwhile President Mnangagwa hosted a dinner with investors to help ensure that agenda.
The Twitter page also highlighted that, “H.E. President @edmnangagwa hosted potential investors at a business dinner in New York on the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. The main objective was to connect Zimbabwe with global capital and create business networks. The Chairman of the Victoria Falls International Financial Centre, Mr Marc Holtzman, said Zimbabwe’s ongoing economic reforms are increasingly opening up new opportunities for global capital.
Speaking after a Business Dinner, Mr Holtzman said the engagement brought together 35 senior investors, with half attending to explore and assess Zimbabwe’s investment opportunities for the first time.
Mr Holtzman said President Mnangagwa’s presentation at the Business Forum on reforms underway in mining, services, banking and monetary policy generated strong interest among the investors.
“The business opportunities are amazing. This is Africa’s century and within Africa it is Zimbabwe’s time,” he said.
He said Zimbabwe’s reforms were contributing to growing interest from American, European and other international investors, while changing perceptions about the country’s investment environment.
He said reforms in the mining sector, monetary policy and efforts to stabilise the currency were among developments attracting renewed investor attention.”
