Palestine Ambassador to Zimbabwe His Excellency Dr Tamer Almassri has expressed his country's gratitude for the support received from ZANU PF and Zimbabwe.
Speaking during the ZANU PF Policy and Coordinating meeting where he was invited to give an update on the goings on in his country, Palestinian Ambassador said his country cannot isolate itself from what is happening outside.
"I have told my fellow Ambassadors in Zimbabwe that Palestine cannot isolate itself from what is happening outside. I cannot do away with my solidarity with Zimbabwe because we are connected. Thank you for the solidarity and support that ZANU PF and Zimbabwe have with us. It means a lot to us. I am sure that Israel will be weaker and weaker in the future."
Ambassador Almassri said to date "26400 martyrs had been killed, 1300 mosques and 400 schools destroyed and 7000 people missing under the rubble. Water, electricity and food supplies have been cut off. We highly appreciate the South African action at the International Court of Justice and we need this kind of action."
ZANU PF Secretary General Cde Obert Mpofu said the Party is watching closely.
"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate South Africa on the recent victory in their case against the genocide in Gaza. The International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to stop the genocide in Gaza. By bringing to light Israel's genocidal tendencies, South Africa has indeed done humanity proud. We hope that such a stance can be taken on the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe in the near future. In the same vein? I would like to reaffirm that Zimbabwe stands in solidarity with Palestine and we will be supporting them in any way we can," Cde Mpofu said.
"We are following the goings-on and what is shocking is that Israel actions are beyond genocide and the so-called free world is behind it."
Secretary for Information and Publicity Ambassador Chris Mutsvangwa said "as Zimbabwe we will always stand with the Palestinian people. South Africa has forced a solution and Israel extremists are now seeing that they are a liability. We need to keep the fire burning because victory is certain."
Chitepo School of Ideology Principal Cde Munyaradzi Machacha said Israel was created and "how do you defend what was obtained illegally. They are continuing to enforce illegality by violence. We are worried that while you are scoring successes, the Zionist leadership are recruiting Africans to work in Israel. We need to raise a voice to discourage this open recruitment."
He encouraged the Palestinian Ambassador to ensure data collection of what is happening.
"We hope that you are documenting as much details from the beginning of the war of the missing persons, the massive destruction must be quantified as we need a dossier of the gravity of the matter."
