Cde Zvarevashe Masvingise is ZANU PF's candidate for Gutu East Constituency in the 14 June by-elections.
He is a simple but very focused man who was born in this local area. When you talk to him about his dream for this Constituency, it is clear that the dreams are big because he has been there since childhood and knows the needs of this community.
Improving the road network, improving internet connectivity, building schools and clinics are just some of the things on his agenda.
Fortunately for him, he has worked in the local council before and has learnt the ropes on how funds can be used to bring development to an area.
Going to Parliament for him will just be a step to advance development within this area.
When you look at him and hear him talk, you can be rest assured that given a few years, Gutu East Constituency will never be the same again.
He has literally covered corner to corner of this Constituency during his campaign and harnessed resources to ensure an improved livelihood for his people.
Those working with him on this campaign no longer call him candidate but MP because they are sure that come 14 June, Masvingise will be in office.
His campaign slogan is an interesting one too, as it spells out one challenge he hopes to find a solution for once in office. "Chibhakera mudenga, mudenga zvekare, mudenga denga. Bata masaisai. 14 June ( Masvingise pfee, Masvingise pfee, 14 June.) The hand must be high up in the sky in order to find signal because this area has poor internet connectivity. Once the hand is way up, then it is able to connect to the rest of the world.
The campaign team led by Central Committee members among them Cde Farai Musikavanhu has left no stone unturned in ensuring that the needed support is available.
With a distance coverage of at least 200 kilometers, a polling station based campaign and an eager electorate what could go wrong?
Cde Masvingise said he will ensure that the Constituency is developed.
"Iam going to push very hard to enhance and to communicate and to continue with the vision that the Second Republic embarked on. If you look at devolution, it has done tremendous changes within our Constituency. The agenda is leaving no one and no place behind. We used to walk more than 10 to 15 kilometres to get to the nearest clinic but because of devolution we have got quite a number of clinics that are serving the Gutu East populace," Cde Masvingise said.
"I will engage the responsible Department so that our road network is in good shape in order to enhance trafficability within the Constituency.
"One of the aspects that President Mnangagwa brought when he came in was "nyika inovakwa nevene vayo." We therefore want all hands on deck at a village level. The village business units are inculcating the culture of oneness, love and productivity."
