Scores of people from Rusape and surrounding areas were this Friday spoilt rotten when Johane, the 5th of Africa International Church Founder, gave them goodies.
Apart from food hampers, the sick were healed, and the multitudes blessed with wealth, knowledge, and wisdom.
The crowd was literally ecstatic, and with song and dance making the better part of the day, it was such a marvel to watch.
Then again you think, the Bible says in Deuteronomy 18:18, "I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."
This man is literally what we have been given to unlock the blessings from heaven because we see lives transformed for the better, and the stories written in the Bible are being relived.
The faith of the men and women I saw in Rusape was out of the ordinary. Each of them wanted to touch the hem of the garment of a man whose exploits they have either seen, heard, or have longed for. It reminds me of the pool at Bethesda, where many came and were healed.
When you see men and women run to get their healing, you may dismiss it as drama, but it is real all shown through the repentance of 90 men and women.
The barren literally run to execute his instructions because they have come face to face with the end of that barrenness and perhaps name calling.
The evil spirits are rebuked, and people's lives put back on the right track.
Who would leave a church bringing value to their life? This is why men and women journey from far away places because they know this is where their salvation lies.
Janet Davids from Tsanzagura said, "I am very happy with the donation I got here today. My husband is in South Africa, and with the economy there at the moment, it has been hard, so this will go a long way to alleviate hunger in my home," she said.
"The first time I came here, my pregnancy had gone way past its time, and I was told that I needed to meet the Archbishop so that everything would be fine. When I did meet him, he prayed for me and told me that I would deliver a baby boy. This is the 11 month old baby you see me with today."
You may think this is a joke, but I, too, can testify that this man told me the gender of my six months old baby when I was just five months pregnant.
I had not gone to the scan yet, and I was hoping for another baby boy to make my clan fair and square.
At first, I doubted the prophecy but stopped buying clothes for a bit. When I went for the scan, I was told that indeed it was a baby girl I was carrying. Baby Faith was born in January this year.
My three-hour labour is owed to this church, too. I was actually dreading the labour period for baby Faith since I have always been a seven, eight, and twelve hours labour mum. If I tell you that I was told to jump twice, run around a tree twice, and shake it twice, you would think I am crazy. But this is exactly what I did for baby Faith to come out (with the umbilical code tied around her neck and leg). She survived and came out five minutes before midnight of a January date that she shares with my first daughter. I can only give God the glory.
Gamuchirai Mapeta said, "This church is providing support for the underprivileged, so how can I leave it. The love that the church is showing is beyond measure, so how can I leave such a church?"
Trust Anthonio said, "I received a blanket, sugar, rice, and washing soap today, and I am very grateful to Archbishop Makururu for such a gesture of kindness."
Patson Chademunhu from Nyazura said, "I am very excited about this donation. I want the Archbishop to buy a wheelchair for me because the one I have right now is no longer working well."
Emilia Nyatanga said her commitment to the church can not be tempered with because of the work being done in her life.
