President Emmerson Mnangagwa has assured the nation that government is not on a sabbatical leave as plans and policies are already in place to accelerate the economic recovery.Giving his keynote address at the POLAD economic summit, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the cornerstone of the Second Republic is dialogue and fruitful, collective efforts to enhance economic stability, growth and sustainable development."The cornerstone of the Second Republic is dialogue as a means of resolving the challenges that may arise in our nation and the sharing of knowledge amongst us as Zimbabweans."No one has the monopoly of ideas on how our country can speedily modernise, industrialise, develop and grow."It is only through dialogue and hard honest work that our collective efforts can be fruitful. As you may be aware, POLAD is a platform which seeks to enhance national cohesion, unity and political tolerance." said President Mnangagwa.President Mnangagwa also said economic growth and prosperity is achievable through a comprehensive and holistic approach on solutions we proffer on the interests of our people.President Mnangagwa also reminded the summit that government declared 2020 as the Year of Productivity and Trade which requires unity of purpose."We have, as a Government, declared 2020 as the Year of Productivity and Trade as such, let us work in unity of purpose to achieve our development milestones and ultimately Vision 2030."I challenge us here today to ensure that our discussions and recommendations are inclusive, people oriented and achieve equitable development for the majority of our people," said President Mnangagwa.President Mnangagwa also reiterated that the nation should utilise the vast natural resources and human capital available across the country to build on the foundation of a prosperous Zimbabwe.
