DEVOLUTION PAYING OFF

True to the precepts of devolution, government has commissioned a US$2 million Binga Water Treatment Plant in a move aimed at unlocking the potential of the area true to the promises enunciated in the ZANU PF 2018 people’s manifesto. The Party is committed to the provision of safe and adequate drinking water and sanitation for all citizenry. The commissioning of the water treatment plant comes at a time when the resort town is expanding. The project was financed through the support from the Treasury and the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA). Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement, Rtd Air Chief Marshal PerrenceShiri noted that provision of water and construction of related infrastructure remains a priority for the New Dispensation. He added that refurbishing water infrastructure is expected to give a push to achieving vision 2030.   Binga district is found on the south eastern shore of Lake Kariba in the province of Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe. Rich with the BaTonga people, the district is known for its treasures in tourism and wildlife resources in the country. By Tendai Moyo
