ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa says the nation must do away with petty differences to celebrate independence in a spirit of wholesome love, generous unity and embracing all magnanimity.
After all we Zimbabwe is a nation of a proud people who dearly cherish freedom and democracy all the way to ultimate sacrifice for the cause of patriotism.
They waged Africa's most painful and bitter war against colonial subjugation, settler minority rule and racist domination; all to dislodge one of the foremost imperial power of modern times.
They battled all the way to the glorious victory of peace, freedom and independence on 18 April 1980.
Speaking to the Daily News yesterday, Mutsvangwa said the liberation war was fought by united Zimbabweans for the eternal opportunity to develop their own country and deliver on the prospect of prosperity for posterity to eternity. Never shall Zimbabwe be a colony again.
“Unfettered sovereignty is the ultimate and noble reward to the whole nation . A crowning achievement for the collective endeavours of the selfless sacrifices endured during the People's War waged in the 1960-70s. On this day of magnificent glory, Zimbabweans pause to take stock of undaunted heroism of the Samora Machel-Soweto 1976 Generation of youthful freedom fighters hurling themselves into the throes of asymmetrical warfare.
The spirit of battlefield valour relied on the anvil of defiant popular support that self -organized to the rigours of a modern and scientific People's War.
This is the epic story of legendary valour that was the protracted national liberation armed struggle waged between 1966-1979. Chimurenga II.
The prospect and delivery on yearned for and much cherished national prosperity is the cardinal reason why so much life and limb was lost.
H.E. President EDM has unwaveringly focused his Second Republic on a development trajectory to strives to deliver development that changes day to day lives for the better to the whole nation. His mind is pencil focused on the marshaling of domestic and global capital so that it can be applied to our national bounty of natural resources.
He is exploring every avenue to release the energy of a hard-working people long attuned to structured organization owed to the heritage of the heroic People's War.
There is a keen determination to harvest on the virtue of excellence through high learning and the mustering of science.
Intrepid capital, local and learn has adroitly discovered that Zimbabwe's High Human Resource Index has given issue to a diligent, hard working labour's force.
It's ability to promptly turn invested capital into quick profit is exciting investors in diverse corporate boardrooms.
Testament to this pleasing state of play is the slew of billionaires who have trooped to Zimbabwe.
Word has gone around that President EDM is onto something good with his mantra Zimbabwe IsOpen for Business.
Such sterling efforts are sure to help Zimbabwe scale and score of the scourge of youth unemployment that has tenaciously and viciously stalked the African Continent.
The commissioning of the Manhize DISCO Steel Project stands head and shoulders in string of outstanding deliverables of President EDM.
It is universally acknowledged that production of steel is a singular hallmark of national economic development.
After all consumption of steel by a nation is equivalent to feeding on food by human bodies.
The index of steel consumption is a sure measure of national economic prowess.
Zimbabwe industry is poised ready to deliver on all and every widget of indepensable steel consumption.
This will give issue to an economy that churns out world class products destined for the discerning global market place.
With that endeavour comes the eventuality of ever rising national prosperity. And a better life all as we march to Vision 2030 and beyond.
The restoration and redemption of steel production shall forever stand as a high point of the long and winding political engagement of President as he scaled from nationalist politics to revolutionary struggle; to national independence and its consolidation. Now has reached that apex of a reverred African leader and a global statesman.
Progress inevitably opens up to new challenges to address and opportunities to seize.
As Zimbabweans savour and celebrate, they can look at their part with pride. In the same vein they aspire to the future with fervent hope. They are confident that they are a people fit for the purpose to discharge their role in the African Renaissance.

“Citizens should embrace the festivities as independence goes beyond silo identities of party, colour, race, gender, age, creed and religion, “he said.
“Therefore these national programs must give people an opportunity to unite and celebrate because this is not a Zanu-PF program but a national programme because independence was fought for everyone and every citizen is welcome to celebrate.”
“That why you see that everyone is akin to voting in our periodic democratic elections which are an expression of our sovereign nationhood as this is in line with the Second Republic`s mantra of “leaving no one and no place behind”.
He applauded the second Republic for taking advantage of the country`s soveverignity and impendence to generate income through a number of projects using our own local resources.
“The Chimurenga-Impi Yomvukelo was all about the quest for economic regeneration of our nation and as war veterans President Emmerson Mnangagwa is spot on in his push for economic revival and growth.
“The President's mantra,” Zimbabwe Is Open for Business” is driving multiple dollar investment in the Hwange Colliery fields to restore its prominence as the premier national energy base. Today we pride ourselves in the ability of developing our country using our resources through indigenous hands,”Mutsvangwa said.
Mutsvangwa urged the youth to know the history in which Zimbabwe attained its freedom.
“I urge the youth who are to enjoy the independence in years to cherish the sacrifice made by the veterans of the liberation struggle as it was not walking in the park that came on a silver plate but blood and lives which were lost in the struggle that brought the independence we are in today.
“We would urge the political landscape to be reflective of the nature in which Zimbabwe managed to bring about independence which we celebrate today, “he said.
Meanwhile Mutsvangwa also said it was crucial for Zimbabweans to embrace the introduced currency, ZiG stating that political independence without economic independence is incomplete.
“It is imperative that there is an own currency within the confines of the nation state. This currency is an expression of collective economic activity amongst the national citizenry.
“It is a travesty of sovereignty to farm out the issuing of currency to foreign or alien jurisdiction(s).
“In embracing ZiG, Zimbabweans are not just accepting a new form of currency but; they are reiterating their commitment to the ideals of independence and the on-going quest for a prosperous and self-sufficient nation.
