The termination of a contract coupled with poverty and depression helped unravel a hidden gem.
Cde Stanley Ndlovu aged 25 says he was employed then when his contract was terminated he was left with nothing to do. He describes how it all started.
"I began animal husbandry after I lost my job (my contract terminated). I was employed by Simbisa Brands Lmt Company for about 6 Months. I had been employed by Safeguard Security Company for about six months then thats when I shifted to Simbisa Brands in 2023," he said.
"When I got my last salary, I had to decide what business to venture into that doesn't make me suffer some losses because that was my last income. So I chose to trust in nature and nothing else and Road Runner Chicken Project and Rabbit farming were so ideal," he said.
That realization changed things for him.
"Now I get money everyday through selling the chickens and rabbits and my life is flowing as if I am still employed.
Like any other business his too has challenges.
"The challenges I am facing include lack of transportation. I don't have a flexible car to transport the feed for my chickens and also to transport my chickens to and fro the desired market. Another challenge is lack of a bigger space. I really desire to do this projects at a commercial level, but I don't have a flexible bigger piece of land to do my projects."
Ndlovu is grateful to his family whom he says is very supportive of his business.
"My brother is very, very supportive, and I really know that if I have any challenge, he is always just a phone call away," he said.
"I am really grateful also to my siblings, parents and friends who are also enjoying the fruits of hardwork through my own hands."
