President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said the Second Republic will never betray the revolution and that the Party will not die.
Giving his opening remarks at the 24th session of the National Consultative Assembly ,ZANU PF First Secretary and President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa said the Revolutionary Party remain guided by the rich liberation war heritage and the ideology bequeathed by the founding fathers and luminaries of ZANU PF.
“The resounding victory by our revolutionary mass party stands as a testament of the continued confidence the people of or country have in our leadership. We are a Party which is wholeheartedly pursuing a people-centred national development agenda, which leaves no one and no place behind.
“We remain guided by our rich liberation war heritage and the ideology bequeathed to us by the founding fathers and luminaries of our great Party. To this end, the ZANU PF led Government is advancing programmes and projects that entrench the true meaning of independence, sovereignty, dignity and integrity,” said President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangagwa also reiterated that the Second Republic is centred on programmes that are people oriented.
“Our national interest and the well-being of the people of Zimbabwe are at the core of all our policies and programmes. “I therefore, assure this august gathering, of you the stalwarts of our Party, that under the Second Republic, the Party and Government will never betray the revolution and that the Party will not die in our hands.
“To date, unprecedented successes have been recorded throughout all sectors of the economy as a result of people centred and responsive policies.
“ The timeous implementation of programmes and projects have seen an improved quality of life and social services for our people, especially those at the grassroots level. Many are being lifted out of poverty,” said President Mnangagwa.
