ZANU PF ALLEVIATING THE PLIGHT OF ITS PEOPLE: CDE CHIRAU
Acting Secretary for Youth Affairs Cde Tendai Chirau
says the Party is swiftly responding to the changing economic and social realities in order to promote comprehensive livelihoods.
Speaking during the International Seminar on Poverty Eradication And Responsibility of Political Parties hosted
"For the War Veterans, Women and Youth Leagues, ZANU PF is swiftly responding to rapidly changing economic and social realities, exploiting existing and emerging opportunities to promote comprehensive livelihoods for the membership through income generating ventures such as small scale mining and value addition, food processing and soaps ans detergents manufacture," he said.
"ZANU PF continues to value decent job-creation underpinned by sustainable economic growth and development as one of the key enablers for poverty reduction. Zimbabwe has, since the advent of the Second Republic under His Excellency the President Cde E.D Mnangagwa, rapidly expanded its job creation base through several projects currently running in all sectors throughout the country, especially in agriculture and mining."
Cde Chirau noted that the illegally imposed sanctions have dealt unkindly with the country but the people have remained resilient.
"We are however faced with humanitarian challenges like other nations in the region, which militate against this noble agenda, by stopping or slowing down production across many sectors of the economy," he said.
"These include persistent droughts, cyclones, floods and lately the outbreak of the covid19 pandemic, which has not spared us and has imposed an unprecedented strain on the national health delivery system. Most deleterious however, are the illegal economic sanctions imposed upon the hardworking and peace-loving people of Zimbabwe
"In the other hand, we are a brave, resilient nation intent on forging ahead in making sure our people are food secure among other important measures."
