His Excellency the President of Zimbabwe and ZANU PF First Secretary Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged youths to reject crime and corruption as well as drug and substance abuse, among other anti-social behaviours.
"l once again call upon you, individually and collectively to reject crime and corruption, as well as drug and substance abuse, among other anti-social behaviours", President Mnangagwa said.
President Mnangagwa made these remarks today at the ZANU PF National Assembly of the Youth League at ZANU PF Headquaters which was being held under the theme: *Re-energising the ZANU PF Vanguard for a 2023 Landslide Victory*
His Excellency also challenged the youths to safeguard Zimbabwe's sovereignity, security and development interests.
"I, thus, call upon you to do more to safeguard our sovereignty, security and development interests while robustly opposing all attempts to undermine our national unity and social harmony and stability. You must equally raise your political consciousness against the machinations of our detractors, who are supported by local malcontents", he said.
President Mnangagwa also highlighted that the Party, ZANU PF will continue to support the youths and create a conducive environment for them to grow in the Party.
"As your President and the Party leadership in general, we will continue to support and create a conducive environment for you to continuously improve your leadership abilities. Meanwhile, your appreciation and application of the Party's Constitution, ideology, rules, procedures and regulations should be sharpened. That is how us in ZANU PF, the People's Party, self-regenerates and grows", President Mnangagwa said.
He went on encouraging the Youth League to mobilise youth cadres to join the ZANU PF Party and resoundingly win the 2023 Harmonised General Elections.
"As you will recall, a few months back I launched the Huyai Kumusha/Buyanini Ekhaya programme. This has seen many of our comrades coming back home, to ZANU PF. I encourage the Youth League to reach out to as many youth cadres as possible from across all political parties, cultures and backgrounds", he said.
He also added " Riding on the various digital platforms, mobilise and bring many of them back home to their Party, ZANU PF. Our collective priority should be to mobilise and attract new members to the Party. Tose tinokwana muhomwe yeZANU PF".
Futhermore he called upon the youths to remain focused and shun drugs and substance abuse.
"l once again call upon you, individually and collectively to reject crime and corruption, as well as drug and substance abuse, among other anti-social behaviours", His Excellency said.
"The Youth League, together with other wings of our Party, must continue to mobilise the rank and file of our Party membership to augment on-going Government's efforts in the fight against these social ills", he added.
