Youths from across Africa met in Namibia this week to find ways in which their countries can harness tourism for economic growth and development.
The 6th Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit and Challenge witnessed the attendance of youths from Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, and Zimbabwe with Zimbabwean representatives bagging a certificate for 4th position.
Speaking during the Summit Cde, Baleta Gomo said creating such a platform helps share knowledge amongst countries.
"By creating a platform for people to share experiences and knowledge, we can build a global community of agro-tourism enthusiasts who are passionate about sustainable farming and responsible," she said.
"We also want to promote local food traditions and cuisine, create opportunities for visitors to volunteer on the farm, provide educational activities for children and families and focus on the local history and culture of the area."
