You are no longer civilians: President Mnangagwa

Officer Cadets graduating at Zimbabwe Military Academy in Gweru this Friday have been called upon to live according to the pledge and oath of allegiance made today.


The request made by ZANU PF President and First Secretary, His Excellency, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, comes at a time when the country requires to up its game as the 21st warfare no longer requires conventional methods but those that are information-technology and geo spatial related.


“The cadet training has armed you with the necessary basic tactical, administrative knowledge and skills to enable you to seamlessly integrate within the ZDF. You are no longer civilians, welcome to a life of sacrifice and service. The boldness, bravery, resilience and endurance you have demonstrated so far, during the 21 months of training, should motivate you in the path ahead. Here at this premier military institution, a strong foundation has been laid for your ensuing careers. Go forth, thrive and be counted among those who wholeheartedly serve our country, in your generation. Shun drugs and substance abuse, which is now a national security concern.”


President Mnangagwa also took time to congratulate the 20 female cadets who successfully completed their training alongside their male counterparts. A total of 105 cadets completed Course Number 3/41/24 out of the 170 who had initially enrolled.
