ZANU PF First Secretary and President, His Excellency Cde E.D Mnangagwa has challenged the Women's League to remember that they are a vital cog in transforming nations.
Speaking during the ZANU PF National Assembly held at the Party headquarters this Friday, President Mnangagwa said women are also the backbone of the agricultural sector.
"Let us keep women organized and motivated. They are the backbone of our agriculture sector. Women's contribution impacts positively on the overall performance of our rural economies. It is my expectation that we see increased land preparation and production of traditional grains and other crop varieties that are suitable to our country's agro-ecological regions. In addition, the Village Agriculture Business Units, investments in mining, tourism as well as small and medium enterprises, should result in improved incomes and livelihoods for households," he said.
"In conclusion, in unity and common purpose, let us work hard to overcome our challenges and avail ourselves in service to our beloved motherland, Zimbabwe. Our skills, strengths, and capabilities are key to advancing our Party and national development agenda.
"As women, you must remember that you are a critical cog in transforming families, communities, and nations. Hence, as you go home as well as your respective constituencies, districts, and provinces, I charge you to be beacons of inspiration and motivation. Play your part as cornerstones of societal progress and advancement."
At least 500 delegates from the country's ten provinces attended the National Assembly.
