The wearing of face masks is now mandatory and will be enforced without exception says ZANU PFPresident and First Secretary Cde E.D Mnangagwa. This declaration follows Zimbabwe’s getting into level two of the National Lockdown. Todays is day 37 and people have been opened to some free movement thereby increasing the chances of exposure for them. The use of masks which is recommended by the World Health Organisation is believed to be one measure which lessens the risk of contact for people. The Czech Republic used the masks as a strategy to keep its people safe from the deadly CoronaVirus pandemic which has exposed millions globally and killed hundreds of thousands. Speaking during the 339 the session of the Politburo in Harare, Cde ED Mnangagwa said the Ministry of Health and Child Care is scaling up testing centres to ensure that more people are tested. “The number of people who have tested positive remain fairly low at 34, however, we mustcontinue being vigilant. Going forward government through the Ministry of Health and Child Careand other stakeholders are increasing the number of testing centres to enable more people to betested,” Cde Mnangagwa said. Meanwhile, we will continue to ensure the requisite mandatory quarantine of returnees as well asthose exposed to positive cases. The wearing of masks outdoors is now mandatory and thisrequirement will be enforced without exception.”
