ZANU PF Secretary for External Relations, Cde Simbarashe Mumbengegwi says the Party is privileged to tap into the experience of Chama Chama Pinduzi CCM which has been in power for a very long time.
CCM currently has a three member delegation visiting the country to extend relations between the two sister Parties.
Speaking during a meeting held at the Party Headquarters, Cde Mumbengegwi said it is a great honor that the delegation is visiting ZANU PF.
"It is a great honor that you are visiting us in your capacity as a Central Committee member and Secretary for Political Affairs and International Relations to compare notes and learn from each other. It is ZANU PF, which is going to benefit from the great experience that has witnessed Chama Chama Pinduzi being able to maintain power for over 60 years. Tanzania was a pillar of strength, and we are in power because of Tanzania and the revolutionary Pan Africanist Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere. We are grateful for the role he played in Zimbabwe and the entire region," Cde Mumbengegwi said.
"Apart from the role played by Tanzania, we must acknowledge the mobilisation against the illegal sanctions under the Chairmanship of the late Former President, His Excellency, John Magufuli. It was under his Chairmanship that SADC took a common position to have October 25 of every year as Anti-sanctions day. SADC took a total and uncompromising and common position publicly. We very much appreciate this."
Cde Mumbengegwi added that it was after that bold stand by President Magufuli that the African Union also took a stand to pronounce its position against the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe.
Also speaking during the meeting, CCM's Secretary for Political Affairs and International Relations Cde Rabia Abdalla Hamid said her Party's sustainability in power is founded on its maintenance of the founding values.
"It was by fortune that we are always together. Africa has been one separated by colonial borders. We are here to remind our sisters that we are here to support each other and show support. This is the confidence we have when we visit," Cde Hamid said.
"We have been in power for such a long time because we chose to honor the motives laid by our forefathers. Whatever foundations they laid, we followed them to lead the country and show the way to our sisters."
Cde Hamid thanked her Chairperson, Her Excellency, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, and the Secretary General Cde Emmanuel Nchimbi for facilitating this visit.
