Champion Foods Private Limited Milling Plant's Sales and Marketing Manager Sheunopa Ruwanza says the company is proud to be associated with the independence that we celebrate this week.
The company was recently launched by His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa recently in a move aimed at helping alleviate the El-Nino induced drought in the country.
Speaking during an interview, Cde Ruwanza said that as Champion Foods, they are committed to their set target of feeding the nation.
"Champion Foods is the new giant in the milling industry. It's involved in the milling of maize meal, wheat products, and stock feeds. Our plant capacity is 500 metric tonnes for maize, 200 metric tonnes of wheat per day, and 400 metric tonnes per day. We as Champion Foods are proud to be associated with the Second Republic as we also support vision 2030 with the mantra Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo," Cde Ruwanza said.
"As Champion Foods, our pay offline is "We feed the nation" because we believe that we have the responsibility as citizens of this country to feed the nation. Moreso, as we celebrate in this month of April, Zimbabwe's independence. We are happy and proud to be associated with the freedom that was brought to us as black Zimbabweans and black Africans."
Champion Foods is believed to be the first indigenous Zimbabwean owned milling company and the biggest single unit plant in Africa.
