Zanu PF Secretary for Veterans, Cde Douglas Mahiya, has appealed to all War Veterans to exhaust internal Party grievance procedures in the face of any arising dispute.
Cde Mahiya’s call comes in the back of an incident where some war veterans recently picketed at the office of the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Prof Mthuli Ncube, demanding better pensions.
In an interview with Zanu PF Information and Publicity Department’s News Desk, Cde Mahiya said "like other departments or portfolios in the Party there is a necessity for continued dispensation of political material to mobilize people towards the direction given by the leader of the Party, President Mnangagwa.
"From the Goromonzi Conference he (President Mnangagwa) made available a communication provision for war veterans' problems especially those concerning or aligned to their welfare, to be channelled through the party.
“He (President) created a wing of the Party which is known as the Veterans of the Liberation Struggle wing which encompasses all associations, that is, mujibha and chimbwido, the non-combatants, the ex-combatants and the detainees.”
