Training will instil Party principles: Mashonaland West
Mashonaland Provincial Coordinating Committee PCC members who attended the Chitepo School of Ideology say the training will instil discipline within the Party and Province.Over 100 PCC members are attended a three day ideological training programme. Mashonaland West Province becomes the third Province to receive this training at PCC level.Speaking during the official opening, Politburo member Edna Madzongwe commended the President and First Secretary of the ZANU PF Party Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa for approving the formation of the ideological school.“We thank the President Mnangagwa for approving the formation of the school and allowing it to move across the country to teach Party ideology. We must also thank the provincial leadership for also coming in their numbers and I trust that the training will be successful.”Also speaking at the event, Politburo member Josiah Hungwe took time to challenge the participants to think deeply about the Party principles being taught.“I am here because of the interest I have in this Province. I first came to this province in 1962 when I was a chair for the teachers. In 1966 I became a prisoner in Banket for over a year. We are talking of socialism with Zimbabwean characteristics and this means thinking of others and not ourselves.”Provincial Chairman Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi thanked the Chitepo School of Ideology for heeding to the Province’s request to offer training in order to keep members in check.“We are happy that the school has heeded to our request to come and teach our people the principles of the Party. We have seen how people have behaved in the past and how this has caused problems. This training will therefore bring us back in line.”Minister of State for Mashonaland province Cde Mary Mliswa-Chikoka also noted that the training will elevate all members.“Today is a special day for us as the Mashonaland West Province because the Chitepo School of Ideology has come to instil Party principles. Some of our people were now wayward therefore I believe that the province will not be the same after this training. We will be elevated to a higher level and more united.”Principal Director of the Chitepo School of Ideology Cde Munyaradzi Machacha noted that these teachings are because of the knowledge gap that since gaining independence.“The mandate of the school is to bridge the knowledge gap in ideological training that has been there for the past 30 years resulting in the many cracks and divisions. ZANU PF is a strong and united Party and our power lies in the people. For that reason we are conducting ideological training in order to unite our people and to strengthen the Party’s supremacy over government. We are currently a college without walls but in the near future, we hope to build a college with walls.”
