… Should be handled with the due fiduciary prudence

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said state owned enterprises and public entities are essential cogs in the overall national governance and socio-economic development architecture of the country’s National Development agenda.
Giving his keynote address at the burial of the late National Hero Brigadier General (RTD), Elasto Madzingira, ZANU PF First secretary and President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa urged those deployed in state owned enterprises and public entities to take a leaf from the life of the departed national hero Cde Madzingira who he described as a team player and never used his position in public entities for personal gains.
The Head of State government also said the late decorated National hero was a soft spoken cadre and ready to share his knowledge to enhance corporate governance and transparency in the nation’s public entities.
“Those presently deployed to serve in state owned enterprises and public entities are called upon to take a leaf from the life of our departed national hero. These offices are essential cogs in our overall national governance and socio-economic development architecture and should be handled with the due fiduciary prudence,” said President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangagwa also reiterated that gatherings at the national shrine must never be taken for granted, but honoured with reverence in celebrating the life lived by the departed heroes and heroines.
“These gatherings, at this national shrine must never be taken granted, but honoured with reverence we celebrate and respect the life lived by our departed heroes and heroines. We shall forever value special opportunities of such occasions to pay tribute to all those men and women who serve our country with consistency, persistency and unwavering patriotism,” said President Mnangagwa.
During his service in the Defence Force and for service to the nation, the late National Hero, Brigadier General Madzingira was awarded the independence Medal, ten years’ Service Medal, Mozambique Campaign Medal, and Liberation Medal as well as the Long and Exemplary medal.
