President Mourns Cde David Zizirai Mavima

  His Excellency the President, Cde E.D. Mnangagwa today sent a message of condolence to the Mavima Family following the death of Cde David Zirirai Mavima, Father to the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Midlands Province, Hon. Cde Larry Mavima. "I have learnt with great sadness and grief of the death of Sekuru David Zvisiri Mavima who succumbed to cancer of the colon at a local hospital in Harare. Although we had been aware of his illness for some time, our prayers and wishes were of that he would be healed and well again. Sadly, this was not to be as he passed on shortly, after his admission to hospital" said the President Sekuru Mavima lived an exemplary life, diligent and hardworking man, a family man, towering father figure who inspired those around him, especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to excel in whatever they set out to do in life. He will be sorely missed by everyone who got to know him and benefited from his wise counsel.” "On behalf of Government, my family, and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to express our deep condolences to the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Midlands Province, Cde Larry Mavhima and the Mavhima family, Sekuru Mavima's grandchildren and great grandchildren in their darkest hour of grief. We mourn their great loss together. "May his soul rest in peace!" His Excellency mentioned. The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs in the Midlands Province Cde Larry Mavhima also described his father as a gentle, humble, soft spoken, chipanga mazano, king, faithful father, great as a grandfather with many grandchildren. Funny affable, intelligent and a true legend. "My father loved his country and people around him. He worked at TPZ, Galleger Ltd and there after became a businessman in the clothing industry. He died at the age of 89 and leaves behind 5 daughters and 2 Sons" Spoke Cde Mavima. The late Mr David Zizirai Mavima also happens to be the father to the late Hero Cde Flint Magama who is buried at Zvishavane Heroes Acre.
