President Mnangagwa's impromptu hospital visit triggers change

By Staff Writer

The impromptu hospital visit by His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has triggered the renovation of five blocks at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare.

The deterioration of service delivery and the sector has seen the untimely loss of life as well as the brain drain of some of the country's best medical personnel as they seek greener pastures.

President Mnangagwa yesterday made a surprise stop at the hospital and toured it with the help of a nurse in order to unravel the truth.

He was able to see the hospital through the eyes of a layman prompting the arrival of Prevail Group to refurbish the blocks.

Work has already begun and according to the Project Manager Cde Venisa Butao the work will stretch for four months.

"We have at least 150 men and women on the ground to rehabilitate the five blocks including the Adlam House. We anticipate that the work being done will take four months and will help improve service delivery. We are proud as citizens to heed to the call by His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa to build our country."

Eight boreholes will be drilled at the hospital to help provide clean and safe drinking water to the residents and patients.
