His Excellency, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has sworn into office, the Chief Justice and Deputy Chief Justice in accordance with the laws of Zimbabwe.
Speaking during the swearing in ceremony held at the State House this Monday morning, President Mnangagwa highlighted that this is in terms of “Subsection 1 of Section 180 of the Constitution, provides for the appointment of the Chief Justice by the President in accordance with the Constitution and Whereas Subsection 1 section 185 of the Constitution provides that the Deputy Chief Justice before assuming office take before the President the virtuous oath.”
Chief Justice Elizabeth Gwaunza and Deputy Chief Justice Paddington Shadreck Garwe swore “to administer justice without fear, favor or prejudice to all persons” in terms of the law.
