The Second Republic under the able leadership of His Excellency President E.D Mnangagwa has opened up numerous opportunities for young women who must take full advantage of them in order to help develop their country, says an official.
Speaking during an interview, Cde Apphia Nyasha Musavengana, the Founder and President of Concord for Young Women in Business Global said it is with no doubt that her organization is taking full advantage of these opportunities in order to help the Second Republic fulfill vision 2030.
"As an organization, we are rallying behind His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa's vision 2030 and were part of the many millions who endorsed him because he understood that women must be empowered and uplifted. So as an organization, we are making sure that we are on the ground going district by district to make sure that women have enough knowledge about His Excellency's vision.
"They are also moved and understand what His Excellency is doing in each Province in terms of developing our country."
Cde Musavengana added that such days as the recently commemorated National Youth Day give an opportunity for them to participate.
"What we are glad about as young women is that we have such a day to restructure ourselves in terms of economic development. We come from different Provinces and share ideas in understanding what our participation is in terms of vision 2030. As an organization, we have understood that His Excellency President E.D Mnangagwa's vision of making sure that Youth are not left behind."
She highlighted that her organization works with the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, SMEs Development, Ministry of Agriculture and that of the Youth to realize their full potential. Goat rearing, land development, ICTs are just some of the areas that the organization has ventured into as they "move according to His Excellency's steps and vision.
"We are grateful that His Excellency President E.D Mnangagwa and the First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa have set the pace in making sure that they leave noone behind all over Zimbabwe. We require as women that we are not left behind in national programmes that have to do with development," Cde Musavengana said.
"No work is better for men. No work is not for women. We should be involved in the hard work such as construction as we see that our roads, airports and border posts are being built."
In her parting words, Cde Musavengana takes time to advise that "let's be clean, let's recycle and let's follow our leadership footsteps."
