His Excellency the President and ZANU PF First Secretary Cde E.D Mnangagwa officially opened the Madokero Shopping Mall yesterday in Madokero, Tynwald where he said that the Mall will go a long way in spurring increased and diversified economic activities.
"In addition to providing a greater shopping experience and business transacting convenience to our communities, the Mall will go a long way in spurring increased and diversified economic activities courtesy of the progressive pollicies and conducive business operating environment my Government is fostering", President Mnangagwa said.
Infrastructure development is one of the promises the ZANU PF led government made to the people in its People's Manifesto as one of its priority areas.
" This commendable feat attests to my Administration's thrust towards ensuring provision of requisite infrastructure development as part of efforts towards the realisation of our vision of a prosperous and empowered upper middle income by 2030", he said.
" I am enthused that the Public Service Pension funds infrastructure development projects dovetail with my clarion call for local institutions, in particular pension funds, to aggressively harness our own local resources to modernize, industrialise and grow our economy", he said.
He also said that the Madokero Mall demonstrate the high demand for safe and modern trading infrastructure.
His Excellency went on to highlight that the Madokero Mall an important development to the communities as it merge shopping with health and fitness which enhance the health and well-being of citizens.
" The Madokero Mall is an important development to the sorround communities as it intergrates shopping with health, fitness. These include safe children's play centre and sporting facilities among other amenities, which enhance the health and well-being at our citizenry", President Mnangagwa said.
He further congratulated the Public Service Commission and Public Service Pension fund Board for the succesful completion of Madokero Mall.
" In conclusion, l once again congratulate the Public Service Commission, Public Service Pension Fund Board, other Ministries, Departments and Agencies as well as implementers of the Project, for the unity of purpose, professionalism and results culture that has culminated in the succesful completion of Phase 1 of the Madokero Mall", he said.
