His Excellency President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has left for Niger to attend the Extraordinary Summit of the African Union on Industrialisation and Economic Diversification in Africa and the Special Session of the African Union on the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement.
President Mnangagwa was seen off at Robert Mugabe International Airport by the Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Care Cde C.D.G.N Chiwenga and Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs Cde O.C.Z Muchinguri Kashiri.
The Extraordinary Summit of the African Union on Industrialisation and Economic Diversification in Africa will be running under the theme “Industrialising Africa: Renewed commitment towards an Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization and Economic Diversification.”
The Summit will discuss amongst other key issues:
● The Continent’s policy framework on industrialisation
●Explore ways in which value chains can create jobs
●Entrepreneurship opportunities for Africa’s micro, small and medium enterprises
●Receive progress updates on the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade (AfCFTA) Area Agreement.
