The efforts of Zimbabwe's men and women serving the public have been commended by His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.

This comes following his visit to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals where he heard how the workers were diligently discharging their duties despite lack of all needed equipment. 

His visit subsequently prompted the refurbishment of the hospital which is expected to take four months.

Speaking during the 384th Ordinary Session of the Politburo on Wednesday, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa said ongoing efforts have been put in place to improve the working conditions of the workers.

"Recently, I had the chance to tour the main public health facilities here in Harare. It was disheartening that the situation was allowed to deteriorate. More is expected from all stakeholders. Blame-shifting will not get us anywhere, we must learn from our shortcomings and work hand-in-hand, so the public sector, private sector and individuals, to build our country," Cde Mnangagwa said.

"Government is now comprehensively addressing health delivery system and other concerns related to the delivery of quality social services. Meanwhile, I commend and applaud all public sector workers for their commitment to serving the people of our country in spite of the limited resources. Ongoing efforts by Government are putting in place measures to improve working conditions for our workers."
