ZANU PF First Secretary, President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has challenged the commissariat and Information departments to accelerate the effective deployment of Information Communication Technologies for a comprehensive Party membership database.
In the same vein, President Mnangagwa also directed the Party leadership through the relevant departments and wings to amplify all success stories under the ZANU PF –led government.
Giving his opening remarks to the 377th session of the Politburo, President Emmerson Mnangagwa directed the Commissariat department to move in time and seriously embrace the use of the new information communication technologies in the on-going Party membership database process.
“The effective deployment of Information Communication Technologies for a comprehensive, authentic and verifiable Party membership database is taking too long.
“Where there are hurdles, challenges must be identified and the requisite technical partnerships sought to bring traction to this issue. We have talked enough and now demand concrete results,”said President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangagwa also said Party organs must discharge their duties in line with the rules and regulations of the Revolutionary Party.
“All organs of the Party must always discharge their duties in line with dictates, rules and the regulations of our colossal revolutionary Party. The Commissariat Department, supported by the respective wings, must lead more energetically, to entrench this culture.
“Similarly, clarifications regarding Party mobilisation, restructuring and co-options as well as disciplinary procedures must be clearly explained to our structures. In this regard, our constitution is the fundamental point of reference.
President Mnangagwa also challenged the leadership of the Party to support the macro-economic trends going on to educate the masses.
“The leadership of the Party is challenged to follow and be knowledgeable about the macro-economic trends so that we are able to appropriately educate our membership. The success stories of the Party must be amplified.
“The indications are that all economic sectors are growing, except the current slump in the agriculture sector, which is a result of the El Nino induced drought. Our ZANU PF-led Government is scaling up programmes and projects to build greater climate change resilience, adaption and mitigation,”said President Mnangagwa.
