ZANU PF First Secretary and President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed Cde Valerio Philip Sibanda to the Political Bureau of the Party. 

President Mnangagwa made the appointment while exercising his right in accordance with Article 9 Section 65 of the ZANU PF Constitution.

Article 9, Section 65 reads, “There shall be a Political Bureau (hereafter referred to as “Politburo”) which shall consist of the President and Secretary of the Party, the two (2) Vice Presidents and Second Secretaries of the Party, the National Chairman of the Party, the Heads of Departments, at least five (5) Committee Members and Deputy Secretaries to the Leagues. The Politburo shall be appointed by the President and First Secretary under Section 67. The President and First Secretary may appoint any or all of the Heads of Departments listed below. If, in the opinion of the President and First Secretary, it is desirable to create additional Departments to the ones listed below, he/she shall at his discretion add such Departments and appoint Heads to the Departments and their Deputies to the Departments so created.”
