PC MATEMADANDA URGES ZIMBABWE TO ADHERE TO LOCKDOWN
ZANU PF National Political Commissar Cde Victor Matemadanda has urged the public to adhere to the stipulated 21 days of National Lockdown in order to protect human life. This he said following reports of unruly elements who are defying the lockdown and falsifying information on the extension of the lockdown period. So far Zimbabwe has recorded 18 positive cases of the Corona Virus COVID19 including three deaths. The Ministry of Health and Child Care is on high alert and continually encourages Zimbabweans to conduct personal hygiene. “Zimbabwe just like the rest of the world is faced with COVID19 and it is destroying lives. If we are not careful the world will remain with no people. If we are not disciplined there will be no people left to bury others,” Cde Matemadanda said. “We must follow what we are being told. In other countries, the mortuaries are filled up and it shows that the virus is serious. There are those that are defying law enforcement agents. Let me say, do not be angry with them because they are doing so to protect people’s lives. President E.D Mnangagwa ordered a 21-Day National Lockdown and we must adhere to it.” Cde Matemadanda warned people against spreading false information. “There are people who have been telling lies about this disease and the Lock-down. What kind of person are you who rejoices when people are dying? We must unite and fight this pandemic together,” Cde Matemadanda said. “I would like to urge those distributing food to do so without being corrupt’’ he said.
