Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Tamer Almassari says his country and Zimbabwe are one and share a history that only the two countries understand.
He said the solidarity shown between the two countries is testament of the bond that they share.
Speaking at a church service of Johane the 5th of Africa International Church where he was invited, Ambassador Almassari took time to alert the congregates of the massacres occurring in his country.
"Thank you my dear brother (Archbishop Andby Makururu) for inviting me to this church service. This man is the first Bishop connected with the Holy land of Palestine. We have put our trust in this man because he is a real Christian with the values of Jesus," the Ambassador said.
Ambassador Almassari then narrated the history of his country which witnessed the 1948 apartheid regimes which have seen the continued suffering of his people.
"From 1948, there were two apartheid regimes formed by the British. First, the Israeli apartheid where zionists and Jews from all over the world were brought into Palestine to colonize the people. The people in Israel are from 120 countries, have 78 ethnicities and there are 80 languages. These people vowed to commit crimes against the people of Palestine because they failed to achieve integration," he said.
"The second is the South African apartheid which in turn created the South Rhodesia apartheid. This is where we should take our similarities because Zimbabwe's independence came about through rivers of blood. The colonialists did not leave Zimbabwe alone but also imposed sanctions because they could not believe that Zimbabwe is free.
"The leadership of His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has worked to maintain and protect the independence of this country. I am sure that the sanctions will fail so that the people of Zimbabwe live freely. Palestine stands in solidarity with the Government of President Mnangagwa against sanctions and we are sure that they will achieve vision 2030."
To date, electricity and supplies have been cut off while no medicine or imports are accessible for the people of Palestine. 38 000 civilians have been killed while 11 000 are under the rubble. 500 doctors have been killed while another 500 have been arrested.
