MSD predicts a cold spell

The Meteorological Services Department has forecasted a cold spell advising people to take the necessary precautions.

In a forecast, the MSD said a "mass of cloud that covered the southern half of the country over night into this morning moderated the morning temperatures and there was not much ground frost measured this morning. This cloud mass persisted all day inhibiting afternoon temperatures from rising above the mild category in most areas. The northern parts of country were mostly sunny and some areas had temperatures reaching the warm category in the afternoon.

MSD added that "Partly cloudy and cool in the morning becoming mild by noon with a light but chilling breeze time and again. Prepare frost mitigation measures. If a brazier or fire is to be used indoors for warmth, ensure the room is well ventilated."
