MISGUIDED ELEMENTS RESTLESS AFTER FLOPPED 31 JULY DEMO
After dismally failing to garner the much needed support for the much hyped 31 July demo, the new hashtag Zimbabweanlivesmatter has hit social media
The July 31 demo failed to take off with some organisers allegedly fleeing front their homes for fear of being arrested. It is believed that funds meant for the demo disappeared while efforts
In the latest attempt to keep the momentum seemingly going the new hashtag has been trending.
MDC's Fadzayi Mahere, G40's self exiled Prof Jonathan Moyo and Miss Red among others have taken to Twitter.
Mahere tweeted "We are tired of living lives without dignity, lives without rights, lives without food, lives without freedom. We are tired of Zimbabweans being abducted and killed like animals while the world turns a blind eye. It is time to take notice."
Miss Red wrote the "situation has reached a point where all Zimbabweans regardless of political affiliation, race, or religion need to sit down and say how can we make Zimbabwe better. Human rights must be respected COMPLETELY. #Zimbabweanlivesmatter"
Another tweeted "Zimbabweans in the diaspora and citizens of your host countries. Let’s all meet at the Zimbabwean Embassies and Consulates on Friday 7 August at 10am local time. Please wear your masks and practice Social distancing."
