Despite the setbacks being registered in the country, more employment has been created, President E.D Mnangagwa has said.
At a Politburo session held today, the First Secretary of ZANU PF said the National Social Security Association NSSA had recorded an increase in the number of jobs.
Many companies have opened shop resulting in more people getting jobs while the country is registering steady growth.
"Through the direct intervention by my Government, the macro-economic environment continues to stabilize, resulting in reduced volatility in our foreign exchange rate and the price of goods and services," said President Mnangagwa.
"As a result of the strides we are making, we envision the gradual increase in the number of jobs created. So far some sectors of the conomy are already reporting positive developments with regards to employment levels and opportunities created.
"NSSA has to date reported over 214 000 jobs created in spite of the prevailing environment charecterised by the illegal sanctions, persistent droughts and COVID-19."
