ZANU PF Deputy Secretary Environment and Tourism Cde Joshua Sacco says that despite the country being under the illegally imposed sanctions, Chimanimani is being rebuilt after experiencing the devastating effects of Cyclone Idai
Chimanimani was affected by Cyclone Idai in March 2019, which resulted in loss of numerous lives, livelihoods, and infrastructure.
Cde Sacco said the stance by His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has seen the development drive registered in the area.
"As you know, as Chimanimani, we were affected by Cyclone Idai in March 2019, and we lost our friends, relatives, and infrastructure. Our country is under sanctions, which have resulted in us failing to get lines of credit from other countries," Cde Sacco said.
"Our President, His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa says eat what you kill. We should eat through our sweat and hard work. This means that as children of Zimbabwe, we must use our local resources for our country to develop. President Mnangagwa stood with us in rebuilding schools, bridges, and electricity infrastructure, and we thank him very much for the development drive that is occurring in our rural areas."
