Announcing the milestone development China Aid Zimbabwe took to its official Twitter handle and wrote, “Just in, we received eight containers of materials from China to speed up the completion of the 500 boreholes in Zimbabwe. We are an extra mile ahead in extracting the precious need of life, water.”
The announcement was met with excitement from the Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Guo Shaochun, who in his terse message, wrote, “Despite the epidemic, China Aid is on the move. Water is the source of life. Good job.”
Efforts
Additionally, UNICEF through its urban Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme also saw a two-fold increase in water production across 14 small towns alongside rehabilitation of sewer systems as well.
