Several communities in both rural areas and small towns are a stone’s throw away from their desire to have clean water for household use, following China Aid Zimbabwe’s delivery of additional required material to complete Government initiative to drill 500 boreholes. China Aid Zimbabwe is working in partnership with the District Development Fund (DDF) in rolling out the multi-million-dollar programme targeting three provinces namely, Midlands, Masvingo and Matabeleland South. We are an extra mile ahead in extracting the precious need of life, water.” The announcement was met with excitement from the Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Guo Shaochun, who in his terse message, wrote, “Despite the epidemic, China Aid is on the move. Water is the source of life. Good job.” Efforts Additionally, UNICEF through its urban Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme also saw a two-fold increase in water production across 14 small towns alongside rehabilitation of sewer systems as well.
