Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution and ZANU PF Masvingo Provincial Chairman Cde Ezra Chadzamira has praised the devolution programme which is aiding to the achievement of Vision 2030.
Cde Chadzamira said this whilst addressing delegates who included ZANU PF Vice President and Second Secretary Cde K.C. D Mohadi during his sixth leg of Provincial tours where he is meeting with ZANU PF Provincial leadership.
“Masvingo Province is grateful to President Mnangagwa for the introduction of vision 2030 looking at devolution, value addition and beneficiation programmes. With the devolution funds, Masvingo has managed to finish several projects which are waiting for commissioning. We are grateful to His Excellency for availing funds for the development of the Province. Masvingo Province is thriving under illegal sanctions imposed by the West and Climate change which entail cyclones and droughts,” said Cde Chadzamira.
The Party’s Provincial Chairman went on to highlight that Masvingo Province can now expand its irrigation supported farming because of the several water bodies which are now full. Cde Chadzamira said the expansion of irrigation projects guarantee food security and all that was achieved through the support of President Mnangagwa.
The Devolution programme was introduced by President Mnangagwa to make Provinces dynamic economic hubs engaged in fierce competition to attract local and foreign direct investments. President Mnangagwa has said that Provinces should utilize their rich endowments to attract investments on which to build strong provincial economies with explicit Provincial GDP numbers and transforming themselves into vibrant Special Economic and Export Processing Zones. To this end, Masvingo Province is making use of its devolution allocation to do several projects for the benefit of the Province and the country.
