Johane the 5th of Africa International Church Founder Archbishop Dr Andby Makururu has congratulated the First Lady, Her Excellency Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa on her attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Midlands State University.
The First Lady's Thesis was entitled "The Efficiency of Hotels in Zimbabwe:Data Envelopment Analysis Approach."
Speaking during an interview, Dr. Makururu said the First Lady's stance towards education shows her commitment to Zimbabwe's development.
"We as a Church would like to congratulate The First Lady, Her Excellency Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa on her Doctorate Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management. It shows us her dedication to her country, Zimbabwe. This level of education also speaks volumes about her as a mother and imparts a good example to other women in general," Archbishop Makururu said.
"We say to her, Congratulations, Makorokoro, Amhlophe. Continue shining your light beyond Zimbabwe."
The First Lady has not only embarked on programmes to uplift Zimbabwe's culture such as the cook out programme, promoting the National fabric, instilling culture in our young people, but is also a Health Ambassador. She is also the ZANU PF Secretary for Environment and Tourism helping to spread awareness on various environmental issues among them the separation of waste at source, ensuring clean environs and healthy living through such programmes as the Walkathorn.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Makururu is in Maputo, Mozambique praying for peace following disturbances within that country.
In a message to his congregates, he urged them to join in prayer for that country and the region so that peace and unity prevail.
The prayer session, which begins at 9:30am to 2:30pm, will also coincide with Namibian Presidential Elections.
