Calls for the removal of sanctions pour in

China and His Excellency the Consul of Zimbabwe in Israel Ronny Levi Musan today joined SADC and the majority of Zimbabweans calling for the removal of illegal sanctions placed on Zimbabwe.

China said the unilateral sanctions were a violation of human right and hurt ordinary people.

The Chinese embassy in Zimbabwe writing on Twitter said,

“Unilateral sanctions violate international law, sovereign equality, human rights and hurt the people. 13years ago, China said NO to illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe. Today, we continue to call for complete and immediate lifting of all, unilateral coercive measures. #RealDemocracy #ZimSanctionsMustGo."

Relatedly, His Excellency the Consul of Zimbabwe in Israel Ronny Levi Musan said sanctions place heavy restrictions on both local and foreign investors.

“The existing sanctions on Zimbabwe, actually restrict both local business man and the many foreign investors who want to invest in Zimbabwe and assist in its development, by all accounts Zimbabwe is considered a country with tremendous economic potential and this is how I am promoting Zimbabwe to many investors in Israel and around the world who want to join me and invest in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is home to many intelligent people with amazing abilities of economic and industrial development.

“During my many visits to Zimbabwe I meet with these precious people and I am trying to connect them to different companies, but despite everything we do in all our efforts we do not even scratch 1% of the potential because of the sanctions. I am walking in Israel in creative ways to help His Excellency President E.D Mnangagwa to open more creative channels of dialogue with different entities to remove these sanctions and I can say today that there is a great light at the end of the tunnel. We all need to act and do everything possible out of unity to return the crown to Zimbabwe and make it one of the leading African countries. It is possible,” said His Excellency Musan

Meanwhile, Zimbabweans in their numbers nationawide today converged and marched against the illegal sanctions.
