President and First Secretary of the ZANU PF Party Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has sent condolence and solidarity messages the people affected by the Corona Virus.Corona Virus COVID19 has resulted in the deaths of numerous people globally after the first cases were recorded in the People’s Republic of China.Major strides seen during this crisis include the building of Wuhan Huoshenshan Hospital a 1,000-bed hospital, built in less than 10 days and the mobilisation of sixty-eight medical teams totalling over 8,310 members being sent to central China's Hubei Province to aid novel coronavirus control. The PRC has also had successful treated cases and discharged patients.Panic buying of commodities has characterised many European countries as people fear dying from the virus.The PRC has sent seven doctors to Italy to help fight the virus. The latest cases are those recorded in South Africa in which President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared a national disaster after 68 cases were recorded. 35 ports of entry and schools have closed.Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information highlighted that the President Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa the people of Zimbabwe should sympathise with the affected people.“My government empathises with all the affected people around the globe… pandemics of this kind have a scientific explanation and like any other natural phenomena cannot be blamed on anyone. We send our condolences and solidarity to all who are suffering.”President Mnangagwa has also urged “Zimbabweans to maintain excellent levels of personal hygiene. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough, and avoid unnecessary travel abroad. We must keep our nation, safe, secure and healthy.”Government will deploy more manpower at Beitbridge Border Post as authorities intensify screening and surveillance to detect and manage cases of coronavirus (Covid-19).
