Speaking at the burial of the late National heroine Jane Lungile Ngwenya at the National Heroes Acre, His Excellency the President and ZANU PF First Secretary Cde E.D Mnangagwa exhorted women and women organisations to continue promoting ubuntu/hunhu and Pan Africanism.
In retrospect to the late heroine’s revolutionary walk, President Mnangagwa highlighted that CDE Ngwenya was a champion for Pan Africanism and Ubuntu.
"She (Cde Ngwenya) gained a wealth of knowledge from various international and continental conferences on women, peace, politics and development. I thus exhort women and women organisations to continue promoting the ideal of Pan Africanism and Ubuntu/Hunhu which the late Cde Jane Ngwenya fought for.
"Our late National Heroine Cde Jane Ngwenya leaves behind a rich and inspiring legacy that will continue to guide the gender parity discourse and associated policies for the empowerment of women and girls in particular," President Mnangagwa said.
His Excellency went on to describe the the late Cde Ngwenya's love and devotion for Zimbabwe.
"She demonstrated unparalleled love for her country as well as extreme commitment and loyalty to Zimbabwe. She was a true leader in all respects and she will be greatly remembered by all of us in the Party ZANU PF Government and the nation at Large," President Mnangagwa said.
Cde Jane Ngwenya passed on last week on the 5th of August. She was laid to rest yesterday at the National shrines after being declared a National Hero.
