As we continue with our agenda of celebrating the National Youth Day, we feature Minister of Transport Honourable Felix Mhona who encourages the youth to take advantage of the numerous opportunities to develop their country.
"Iam happy to articulate the essence of the National Youth Day which is something we must celebrate as a nation given the numbers in terms of demography, we are saying youth constitute a larger portion of our population in Zimbabwe," Cde Mhona said.
"In terms of driving the economy, we must take and run with the agenda of driving the economy and it will then collaborate very well with the mantra of His Excellency President E.D Mnangagwa which says nyika inovakwa nevene vayo and indeed we are the ones who are supposed to drive that agenda.
"If you look even with the liberation struggle, those who would then partake in the exercise of liberating the country. They were driven by the zeal to say we cannot continue under this oppressing regime. They had to take arms, cross over the borders so that they could free their nation.
"Today we have got the advent of social media and we cannot rest as a nation and see our country being bombarded from left right and centre without adding our voice. We are saying at the end of the day we must defend our country. We must defend our revolution. We must also partake in the exercise of rebuilding our country in terms of infrastructure. We must take advantage of the opportunities that have been given through the Second Republic."
