There is nothing as joyful and fulfilling as having the people you serve shower you with all the words of gratitude and appreciation.
This is the reality for Masvingo North's Constituency Member of Parliament Cde Brian Mudhumi.
For a man whose Constituency is extremely vast from Masvingo urban's Rodene, and Rujeko C's suburbs to Zishume, Zvido, Great Zimbabwe Monuments, Boroma and Chikwanda amongst other places, you would expect somebody to use this as an excuse.
However for Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 8b, 8, 10, 14b and 32, the positive story cuts across. The men, women and youths testify of lives transformed, something none of them expected would ever happen in their lifetime.
The clinics being built, the classroom and Administration blocks being finished, the laptops donation, the solar powered boreholes, the roads being graded and tarred from personal funds due to the lack of disbursement of the Community Development Fund (CDF), are exhibits of a hardworking young man who proved that indeed a better life is possible.
Cde Shuvai Machekera from Chihera Branch Ward 8a under Chief Chikwanda said, "Our children and grandchildren are walking 15km to either Mutendi, Gutu or Bikita for schooling because we are in a resettlement area. The building of Mara Primary School by His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa through his MP, Honourable Brian Mudhumi could not have come at a better time. This School is exciting us because our children will no longer be rape victims and handicapped whilst crossing rivers."
Cde Emson Murenjekwa said, "MP Mudhumi is working tirelessly to ensure that our lives in this Ward are transformed. He is young, humble, time conscious to our needs. We hope that Mara school will start soon."
Cde Ellah Madhlazi said, "The land we fought for is the one we are cultivating so that our lives are transformed. We have been here for 20 years and have been growing maize, soya beans, peanuts, sugar beans amongst other horticultural produce. This is how we are earning a living."
Cde Mandy Chimbeva and Cde Collen Emmanuel highlighted that the youth projects started by the Member of Parliament were helping them desist from drugs and substance abuse as young people.
